Did you know that construction workers could be coming into contact with asbestos more than 100 times a year! It is estimated that 20 people die every week from asbestos related diseases however, despite the fact that we have known of the dangers of asbestos for over 100 years, the HSE found after conducting a survey that only a third of tradespeople could identify the correct measures for safe asbestos working and very few knew that asbestos dust can still be found in buildings built up to the year 2000.
Fortunately, the HSE has launched a new initiative to raise awareness of how to combat asbestos exposure, which is hoped will eradicate unnecessary exposure to the deadly fibres.
If you or anybody you know has been affected by asbestos exposure please get in touch, we would be more than happy to help you.
